Edwin Arnold has called Gautama Buddha, the "Light of Asia". Buddha's teachings have travelled far and wide, capturing the hearts of billions of people.
Buddha Purnima memorializes and celebrates the birth of Lord Buddha and his enlightenment. To mark the auspicious occasion of 2560th Buddha Purnima celebration, a special assembly was conducted by Presidium Sonipat.
The assembly began with the chants of school prayer sung by the school choir and they beautifully rendered chants of ‘Buddham Sharnam Gachami’.
This was followed by a spectacular dance performance by our young Presidians. The occasion was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety.
Students presented the 'Eightfold Path' which consists of eight practices: right view, right resolve, right speech, right conduct, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right "samadhi" to mark the birth anniversary of Lord Buddha and his teachings.
Such festivals to honor the legends of this great nation Buddha have been held for many centuries and to inculcate the same respect for great personalities our students celebrate the at Presidium school every year.
