DEVELOPING PRESIDIANS' EFFICACY IN VOCABULARY THROUGH SPELLATHON

An intra-class Spellathon competition was recently conducted at Presidium Sonepat for grades 6 to 9. The competition aimed at enhancing their vocabulary, pronunciation and understanding of words. The six rounds of the competition included warm up, jumbled words, similar words, visual round, guess the word and audience round. All the students came well-prepared for the event. The event clearly showcased the students’ learning and pronunciation skills. The Spellathon aimed to build confidence among the students and make them better communicators.
PROUD PRESIDIANS CELEBRATE THE GLORY OF INDIA ON INDEPENDENCE DAY
The Independence Day celebration at Presidium, Sonipat was in resonance with the zest and zeal associated with the glorious day which wrote the success story of the free India in golden letters. The hoisting the Indian flag and the echoes of the national anthem marked the beginning of the event. After the flag hoisting, patriotism was in high spirits as the students of grade Prep presented a breathtaking rendition of patriotic songs and dances. The celebration also included a musical play describing the valour and sacrifices of Mangal Pandey paying homage to the efforts of one of our first freedom fighters. The highlight of the event was the reenactment of the freedom struggle by the students of the primary section. The celebrations concluded with a performance on ‘Des Rangila’ which enthralled the audience.
PRESIDIANS PERFORM WITH CONFIDENCE IN INTERCLUB SKIT COMPETITION
Presidium Sonipat recently organized an Inter Club Skit competition for the students of grades 6 to 9. They enthusiastically took part and stunned the audience with their acting skills. Each club had a unique theme such as Say No to Plastic, Elections of 2019 in India, Digital India, and Reduce-Reuse-Recycle, etc. The best part of the show was the kind of props they used made with the simplest available objects and items like vegetables, water bottles, and lunch boxes. The participants were judged on storyline, idea, expression, voice modulation, costume and props. This competition encouraged the spirit of creativity, team building and provided a platform to the students to express their ideas and talent.
LITTLE HEARTS ELATED TO RECEIVE APPRECIATION ON APPRECIATION DAY
We at Presidium believe that constant appreciation is one of the best ways to motivate the students to excel and strive for bigger accomplishments. To impart the sense of self significance and boost the morale of our little leaders, Appreciation Day was recently conducted at Presidium Sonipat. The teachers felicitated the students with certificates for various positive attributes including leadership, curiosity, good behavior, dance, sports and discipline. This acknowledgement made the Presidians believe that their best efforts are being appreciated at every point. The students excitedly received the certificates and felt proud of their qualities. Presidium is building an empire of strong personalities and such occasions simply reaffirm the fact.
PRESIDIANS MAKE SPECIAL FRIENDS DURING THEIR VISIT TO SPARSH
The students of Presidium Sonipat recently visited God’s own and special children at Sparsh. It was a special and a heart warming experience visiting the nation’s 5th best special school and meeting children who taught the Presidians to always accept life, be happy and keep smiling. The children learned that in the face of a challenge, they can still find happiness and enjoy their lives. They never knew how the time passed by interacting with the special students, going on a school tour, participating in diverse activities with them and learning about how noble the initiative of Sparsh is. Our young Presidians actually left with more than what they might have contributed to the cause.
G.K. QUIZ EXPOSES PRESIDIANS TO NEW FACETS OF GENERAL AWARENESS
Human curiosity is perhaps the best secret weapon of all in the struggle to unravel the workings of the natural world. In order to settle the curiosity of the students and expose them to new facets of the general awareness, an ‘Intra Class Quiz Competition’ was organised for our young leaders of grades 4 & 5. The students showcased a lot of confidence as they answered the questions posed to them. All the students participated with great enthusiasm and zeal. The quiz was designed to enhance the general awareness of the students. Every round was a mixed bag with questions from history, sports, books, languages, vocabulary and science which was very exciting and nail-biting for the teams. At the end, each and every child was applauded for his or her participation and they were encouraged to always keep themselves updated with general knowledge.
CONFERRING TITLES TO YOUNG LEADERS AT INVESTITURE CEREMONY 2018

Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality. To inculcate the leadership qualities in students and to give them a feel of functioning of the administrative body, a school student council was formed at the much-awaited Investiture ceremony. This ceremony signified the reliance and confidence that the school consigns in the newly invested office bearers. It was conducted with the high degree of earnestness & passion and was presided over by the honourable Chairperson Mrs. Sudha Gupta. The students were conferred with badges of titles such as Head boy, Head girl, Sports Captain, etc. Donning the mantle of accountability, they also pledged to behold the school’s principles with loyalty, honesty, truth and honor. Presidium Sonipat, organized ‘The Academic Excellence Awards
2018’. We are immensely proud to have such excellence & prizes the noteworthy and persistent efforts of our achievers in academic merit. In an attempt to celebrate such hard working and determined minds, the event was graced by our honorable Chairperson, Mrs. Sudha Gupta. Students’ endeavors were glorified with trophies & certificates and their parents & teachers were also acknowledged for their relentless support. Not only did these acknowledgments recognize their past efforts, but it also brought a tremendous boost to their attitude to strive and aim for bigger accomplishments; as they say, ‘Recognition is the greatest motivator.’
SKATING COMPETITION: BUDDING SPORTSMEN SKATE THEIR WAY TO THE TOP
Great skaters are not great because of their talent. They are great because of their passion.
At Presidium, we provide our students with ample opportunities to discover their most innate qualities and passion which would drive them into becoming shining stars in future. Sports is one such discipline wherein the students get to explore their strengths and reach to new heights. We recently conducted a skating competition for our budding skaters who showcased their passion with immense enthusiasm. It brushed their skills of balance, poise and also build sportsman spirit among them. The competition was enjoyed by all and it paved a way for them towards the path of success in the field of sports and life.
PRESIDIANS PROVE THEIR METTLE IN INTERCLUB DEBATE COMPETITION
“The purpose of debate is to explore issues, not end them.”
Freedom is hammered out on the avail of discussion, dissent and debate. Presidium, Sonipat recently organised an Inter Club Debate Competition for the students of grade 9. The topics were assigned to each club in which they successfully presented their thoughts and sensationalised the issues based on the given topics:
1. Maestros Club: Use of mobiles is a curse.
2. Supremes Club: Military training should be introduced in
3. Leaders Club: No retention policy is justified.
4. Legends Club: Films cause social evils.
5. Victors Club: Rural life is better than urban life.
6. Elites Club: Boarding schools are better than day
The club mentors formed their team of speakers. The highlight of the debate was the rebuttal round. The debate competition came alive as a volley of questions was answered, inviting more questions which got further answers from both sides. Each participant rose to the occasion to defend their argument. The best refuters, heatedly spoke for the motion and against the motion.
