Presidium Sonipat recently hosted a beautiful Kathak dance recital by the renowned artist - Pandit Ram Mohan Maharaj, under the aegis of SPIC MACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music And Culture Amongst Youth) on the occasion of World Dance Day. The artist was accorded a traditional welcome and the programme commenced with lighting of the ceremonial lamp. Breathing the spirit and ethos of Indian spirituality, classicism and artistic excellence for his outstanding, consistent and trend-setting pioneering works in Kathak, he has been awarded the prestigious Indira Gandhi Priyadarshini Award 2006, Outstanding National Citizen Award and many more. He brought about manifestation of dance in many forms of nature and interestingly compared it with real life situations to leave a lasting impression on the Presidians. Winning over hearts of the audience, the connoisseur enthralled the students with his mesmerizing footwork, facial expressions and homogeneity in presentation of this vibrant dance form. It was truly, an enriching experience for the students!

Poem Recitation is a mode of expression, a medium to reflect the latent talents of the young ones! To brush some sparkle off the shoulders of our students, Presidium, Sonipat organized an english recitation competition for grade I-III. As we all know, beauty is the realm of the poetry, the Presidians enjoyed the beauty of expression, thoughts, feelings, rhythm and music of words throughout the competition. The little Presidians got an opportunity to exhibit their talent and confidence in front of an enthusiastic audience. They chose a variety of topics for their recitation such as nature, trees, flower, mother, and teacher to name a few. It was a delight to hear the little ones singing in rhythm with a lot of excitement.

Besides being the start of a new year in Punjab, Baisakhi is also a harvest festival, as it marks the maturing of the Rabi crop when farmers begin harvesting the grain. The students of Presidium Sonipat recently celebrated this colourful harvest festival with immense religious fervour and enthusiasm via a special assembly. The celebrations began with a thoughtful speech explaining the significance of the day, post which, a wonderful cultural dance performance was presented. The school came alive with the brilliant Gidda performance which was the highlight of the programme!

Considering that Taekwondo and Skating are not mere combat sports, but are also a way of life for enthusiasts around the globe, Presidium Sonipat recently organized an Intra-Class Taekwondo/Skating Championship. The competition not only portrayed the essence of team spirit to our young Presidians, but also gave them an opportunity to showcase their capabilities. All the students participated with great enthusiasm and enjoyed the activity thoroughly. Witnessing spectacular performances of our little sports stars, the event was very fruitful learning indeed!

Considering this, an Inter-Class Role Play Competition for the students of grade 3 was recently organised at Presidium, Sonipat. The competition blended learning with fun, and also helped in boosting the confidence of our little Presidians. Their excitement and happiness knew no boundaries as they came dressed up in resplendent costumes to emulate several famous personalities and their favourite fairy tale characters. It proved to be a great learning experience and also provided the students an insight about their true potential while showcasing their acts.
