PRESIDIANS SPREAD AWARENESS ABOUT OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUTH!
There is a fountain of youth: it is your mind, your talents, the creativity you bring to your life and the lives of people you love. Presidium celebrated the International Youth Day with great enthusiasm. Students spread awareness of the challenges faced and opportunities created for the youth of today. The theme of International Youth Day 2020 is “Youth Engagement for Global Action.” Students participated enthusiastically in a plethora of activities on International Youth Day, including Quiz through Audiovisual clips, speech, slogan writing, and poster making. The topics included Climate Change, Financial Inclusion, HIV/AIDS, Girls, and Young Women, Volunteerism, Education, Migration, and Disability. Such activities foster zest among present youth to contribute to society as the youth is the hope of our future.
JANMASHTAMI: PRESIDIANS REMINISCE THE BIRTH OF LORD KRISHNA!
'Lord Krishna was born to protect the world from evils and remove all difficulties.' Presidium celebrated Janmashtami, the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna, with great passion and zeal. The students of Nursery to Grade 5 participated with great enthusiasm and were the show stealers indeed! The students participated in Mukut, Bansuri, and Makhan Matki Decoration and recited shlokas. They even Narrated stories of various popular incidents from the life of Lord Krishna. The replay of pranks of Lord Krishna made the event even more lively. The young students, beautifully adorned in the attire of Krishna, Radha & Gopikas, and various other characters enacting their respective roles, perfectly won our online audience's hearts. The entire event was a peep into the richness of Indian tradition and culture. It conveyed the strong message of "Victory of good over evil."
PRESIDIANS LEARN ABOUT THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF ABODES FOR ANIMALS!
'Home is a place where we feel loved and safe.' Presidium believes in giving hands-on experience to young learners. Students of Grade 1 explored the importance of Home under the TBL theme. They were made aware of the purpose of Home, categories of different types of homes, and the need for Home for human beings and animals. To sensitize them towards the need for Home for everyone, they were asked to create and decorate Home for their favourite animals using cardboard, sticks, newspapers, etc. They came up with their best of creativity while doing and making a home for a dog, cat, rabbit, lion, etc. Through this task, they enhanced their gross motor skills and developed aesthetic sense. They enjoyed the whole learning process and were also made aware that Home provides shelter, security, love, support, and a sense of belongingness.
PRESIDIANS MARK THE FESTIVAL OF RAKHI WITH ARDOUR & GAIETY!
"We laugh and cry, we play and fight, we share moments of happiness and sorrows, which makes our bond stronger." Students of Presidium celebrated Raksha Bandhan with great ardour and gaiety, the forever bond of brother and sister. The sanctity of this festival speaks about India's rich culture and traditions that make our nation extraordinary. Our young learners made this festival more special with the effort they put in - the girls prepared Rakhi cards, Sash, Rakhi, and Rakhi Thali. On the other hand, the boys appreciated the handmade rakhis. They promised to take care of their loved ones. The highlight of the celebration was the glimpse of young Presidians dressed up beautifully in Ethnic wear with huge smiles on their faces. Young buds also shared that this is not a festival of blood brothers and sisters; instead, it is a celebration of unconditional and selfless love!
PRESIDIANS CELEBRATE FRIENDSHIP DAY WITH GREAT ZEAL!
"Friends are angels who lift us up when our wings forget how to fly."
We, at Presidium, believe in giving hands-on experience in every activity. This day's purpose is to understand friendship, which is to help others and share the joys and sorrows. Students celebrated Friendship Day with great zeal, enthusiasm, and affection. Friendship day is celebrated on the first Sunday of August every year. Stories of friendship and bonding were narrated to the Presidians. The students made beautiful cards and friendship bands by writing their friend's names and qualities and beautifully decorating them. Here's to a lifetime of friendship!
INTERNATIONAL TIGER DAY: PRESIDIANS PLEDGE TO SAVE TIGERS!
Students of Presidium raised their voices by doing their bit. International Tiger Day was observed to raise awareness for tiger conservation. Students were made aware of how tigers are on the verge of extinction. The best possible solutions through which we can save the Lord of Jungle were also shared. Our students showcased their love for animals and the responsibility to protect them from human selfishness through various activities. Students were sensitized about our moral responsibility to save tigers through engaging activities like slogan writing and fun-filled craft activities like making masks and bookmarks.
ROLE PLAY: PRESIDIANS BRING THEIR FAVORITE PERSONALITIES ON STAGE
We, at Presidium, focus on instilling life skills to the students through various activities. To build oratory skills, an Inter class Role Play Competition under "The Ringside View Academy '' was organized for the students of Grade- I -III. It was an activity where our Presidians got the chance to imitate different characters. They played roles of their favorite personalities from different fields of professions to Hindu Mythology. From Kalpana Chawla, Charlie Chaplin, Modi Ji, Sania Mirza to Lord Krishna and Lord Shiva. It was indeed a proud moment watching our young learners enact these eminent personalities with a lot of enthusiasm and zeal. Such competitions give our students a platform to showcase their talent and aspirations.
PRESIDIANS TEST THEIR SCIENCE KNOWLEDGE WITH SCIENCE PRACTICAL
Practical work is essential for good science education and is needed for world-class laboratory experiences. Practical laboratory science is a great way to motivate and engage young minds. Hands-on experiments are an essential part of learning science and a way to develop wider life skills. The final Science board practicals of grade 10 were conducted where students were divided into groups of 6 students each. Practicals like finding the pH value of dilute hydrogen chloride, baking soda and dilute ethanoic acid were given to students for assessment. Students went through viva which was taken by the invigilator of the practical. The assessment was based on criteria like conceptual knowledge, observational skills, and scientific aptitude.
FAREWELL CEREMONY: BIDDING ADIEU TO OUR DILIGENT STUDENTS
Farewells always leave everyone with mixed emotions, and this one was no different. The day was filled with melancholy of separation and the exhilaration of stepping out to the world of new opportunities. The extravagant ceremony was graced with the benign presence of the director Mrs. Sarita Syal Ma'am who acknowledged the students and wished them all the best as they stride into the future. She motivated them to move ahead with a positive attitude in life and to always be in action. The hall was filled with applause as specially composed titles were presented to the students. A cultural presentation given by the students of grade 9 had a mix of energetic dance performances, melodious songs, and pulsating music. The Students of grade 10 in their farewell speech mused fondly about their learning and thanked their mentors for helping them find their purpose in life.
PRESIDIANS PARTICIPATE IN A SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON WORLD CANCER DAY
Presidium organized a special assembly on the occasion of World Cancer Day to spread awareness about the disease and remove the misconceptions which are generally prevalent in the society. Students delivered speeches and organized a Quiz Contest to bring home to all the issues related to the problem. A Poster Making activity was also held to campaign for the cause in the Junior classes. In the event, it was emphasized that it is the life in the years that counts, not the years in life.
